Empowering Families:

This ministry exists to assist Ethiopian families by providing opportunities for spiritual growth, increasing the availability of education, and meeting basic nutritional needs. Our goal is to help foster education in the young and old alike that they may have the ability to lift themselves from dire poverty, be empowered to meet their basic needs and continue the cycle of blessing in their community.

Facts about Ethiopia:

• Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It is second-most populated nation on the African continent.
• Ethiopia has a total population estimated at approximately 90 million and is home to more than 80 ethnic groups and a wide diversity of languages.
• More than 80% of the population live in rural areas.
• Schools lack pens, books, paper, and most schools don’t even have water or useable toilets.
• Less than 30% of Ethiopia’s children are enrolled in primary school while lower enrollment rates exist for girls and rural children.
• 47.6% of children under the age of five suffer from being underweight and having moderate and severe growth problems. Malnutrition, infections and other diseases contribute to the high child mortality rate.
