Tuesday morning at 4 AM I woke to the sound coming from the bathroom. At first I wasn’t sure what I was hearing or if I was just dreaming about the sound of water. As I struggled to become more alert, I realized it was a drip coming from the bathroom. Normally that would cause an alarm of thinking something was wrong with the plumbing. Not today! We had been without water for several days. Our back up supply had dwindled and we were in need of some relief. Although I had safe, bottled water for drinking, there was no water for bathing, flushing or washing clothes. I had been told that water might come in the middle of the night for a few hours and we would need to fill every container with water. I stumbled out of bed only half awake to scurry to check the water faucet. With great anticipation, I found water coming from the faucet. I hurried down the hallway to awaken Melaku. We hurried to fill the buckets, pans and water jugs. It was an early morning of rejoicing and thanking God for a plentiful amount of water. Psalm 95:2 says, “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” Just as the water flowed that morning, our lives should also flow with the living spirit of Christ for all to see. John 7:38 says, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
